A Walk with a Stranger

I like helping people with directions in Chicago, especially because I’m usually pretty terrible at knowing where things are.

But yesterday, I knew where the nearest coffee shop was, and immediately after helping the woman out, we started heading in the same direction.  So, we struck up a conversation about how she was in town for her daughter, who had just given birth, and how I was starting my senior year at Columbia.

It was a nice start to my morning.
